Emergency Response

TEES emergency response

TEES needed funding to give emergency supplies to people sleeping rough, struggling with addiction, the elderly and isolated.

The foundation team railed to find a supporter who would fund this project and approached Northern Powergrid, which offered TEES £1,500 to buy bottled water, hats, sunscreen, deodorant, hand wipes, toothpaste and body wash

"We wanted to put together survival kits for people who would be vulnerable to the weather"

Emergency response is about dignity, and giving items like this is very practical and lets people know they are cared for. People appreciated it. The heat can make people so ill, especially when they already have health problems, so this was one way to intervene and hopefully stop people ending up in hospital.

Knowing people are cared for

We are able to offer this vital support when local people need it the most and be a force for good that is beyond our network which powers peoples everyday life. Working effectively with local partners during severe weather events is something we are committed to doing in the months and years head.
